Win Row Farm - Hunter Jumper Boarding Instruction Showing and Sales
Instruction
Win Row Farm's lesson program encourages students to concentrate on the specific discipline of Hunt Seat Equitation, progressing to jumping. They are taught to groom and tack up their own mounts for their lessons. Students all start with a one- on-one private, regardless of previous experience. Proper grooming, tacking, equipment used, and lesson protocol is covered along with getting acquainted with the terminology used. All riders at this  time are assessed so that they can be placed in an appropriate semi private group. It's important for students to demonstrate the ability to ride (walk and trot) around the ring by themselves comfortably before being placed in a group. This is to ensure that they are confident in controlling their horse/pony. As students begin to master the flat skills of walk, trot and canter and demonstrating not only balance and position but also continue to work on becoming effective riders. We strive to teach them to achieve and to get that "invisible ride'"

LESSON PROTOCOL

First time private  lessons are 45 mins to one hour long.  Students get acquainted with proper grooming, tacking and lesson protocol
before during and after riding.

Semi-private lessons are 45 minutes -1 hour long. Students are to arrive 30 minutes prior to their lesson to groom and tack up so they are ready to ride at scheduled time.

WHAT TO WEAR

Proper riding attire is not required to begin lessons. Straight legged pants, shoes or boots with flat sole and small heal are recommended. We can provide a helmet for the first few lessons, after which students should provide their own. Students will need helmets and paddock boots first, In time, most students will also need to get half or full chaps to keep from getting rubbed on their legs. No over-sized clothing. Clothing should be fitted and neatly worn shirts, tucked in to prevent getting caught on equipment and so not to interfere with instructors view of riders position. ALL students with long hair MUST wear hair pulled back and preferably up in helmet using hair net. We are happy to show them how! :)
